[MinnowBoard] Trying to update firmware

Jeremy Hoel
So, following the instructions from here (1) I grabbed the files for both the 1.0 and 0.94 firmware, extracted them to a FAT based UBS stick and booted the MM.  When I got to the interactive efi boot, I was able to get to the USB drive and when I run the command 'FirmwareUpdate -f MINNOW.fd' I get the message "Image type IA32 is not supported by this X64 shell".

Now, there is not other options for the FirewareUpdate or the MINNOW.fd files.. there are no other files referencing x64 or X32.

Jeremy,

Did you updated the firmware?
How can I do that? I saw on the uefidk.com site but is too complicated (compared with the Original board).

Re: [MinnowBoard] Trying to update firmware

Jeremy Hoel
Yup.. I found the firmware here:

Each zip has two bin files, a D02 and R02.. the D02 I assumed was debug so I installed the R02.

I used the FirmwareUpdate.efi from the minnowboard package that John mentioned in Augest

Re: [MinnowBoard] Trying to update firmware

Thiago Tenório Jordão de Vasconcelos

I just have to put both files on a USB driver and run the EFI?
Just that? I was trying to build the whole thing before I gave up. =/

I'll try that, Jeremy, thanks!

Re: [MinnowBoard] Trying to update firmware

Jeremy Hoel
Boot into an interactive shell (F2, boot options, interactive shell) then from there you can FS0: then run the FirmwareUpdate.efi
